Doran Direct is a family-run business that has been operating since 1966 and is located in Straffan, Co. Kildare. Doran Direct provides cost-effective and efficient transportation and haulage services to a range of sectors including retail, pharmaceuticals, heavy industry, hazardous goods and consumer goods.

While the business continued to grow, it required faster and more flexible access to funding than it could secure from its existing facility with a major bank. Peter Doran, Founder and Managing Director with Doran Direct, therefore turned to Bibby Financial Services Ireland, and the two have been working together closely since 2014.

Given the nature of the business it has regular overheads such as fuel and freight costs, and often faces delays while waiting to collect client payments. While Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic exacerbated these logistics challenges, the business was able to rely on its invoice finance facility to ensure smooth cashflow and continue operating as planned.
